Music Ministry at Cool Springs Baptist Church

Music has always played an important role in man's worship of God. God created music, and He enjoys His creation. Here at Cool Springs Baptist, it is our desire to offer every person an exciting variety of musical opportunities that will 1) give glory to our Lord, Jesus Christ; 2) provide encouragement for both musical and spiritual growth; and 3) clearly share the powerful message of Christ’s love and salvation to the community. All of this is accomplished in an environment of praise, joy, and thanksgiving.

To aid in reaching these objectives, we have a graded music program that involves all ages. From our preschool to adult choirs we strive to be obedient to God’s call, meeting the needs of the congregation while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in song. The choirs in our choral department are open to any church member who wishes to praise the Lord through song and who is committed to giving God the very best. There is no audition process or cost. Below you will find the many opportunities available within the music ministry at Cool Springs. 

JUBILATE CHOIR
Director: Sherry Pruette; Pianist: Myra Cole; Organist: Frances Phillips

The Jubilate Choir is the principal leadership group of the Music Ministry. This growing group of adults leads worship in our weekly 11am service, presents special seasonal programs, and participates in other special events throughout the year. Many opportunities are available for solo/choir combinations. The Jubilate Choir meets every Wednesday at 8pm in the sanctuary. Membership is for everyone 18 years of age and older.  

SONSHINE SINGERS
Director: Sherry Pruette; Pianist: Kristin Johnson and Jane Craig 

The SonShine Singers is a small, informal choir that provides musical offerings and worship leadership during the 8:30am service on the fourth Sunday each month. The SonShine Singers rehearse each Sunday at 6pm in the choir room. Membership is for everyone 18 years of age and older.

AGAPE YOUTH CHOIR
Directors Marie Johnson, Rebecca Barnhill and Nathan Faulk:  Pianist: Sherry Pruette

The Agape Youth Choir is for students in grades 6 through 12. The youth choir sings a variety of styles including contemporary, traditional, gospel and swing. They rehearse at 5pm in the sanctuary during the school year, and leads in worship on selected Sunday mornings and evenings throughout the year. 

MELODY MAKERS CHILDREN’S CHOIR I and II

   Children are very important to the ongoing and future ministry of our church; therefore, it is our goal to provide them with the best possible opportunity to learn the joy of worshipping God through song. Melody Makers is open to all children in grades 1 through 5. They rehearse at 6pm in the children’s choir room located in the educational building and they sing for worship at various times throughout the year. They also present a special musical each year.

ANGEL CHOIR

Directors: Denette Fitzpatrick, Eddie Fulk and Donna Wells

 The Angel Choir is a music ministry for preschoolers age 3 to 5. During their weekly practices, they learn songs and creative movement with the goal of leading them to a growing faith in Jesus Christ. The Angel Choir meets each Sunday night at 6pm in the 4-5 year old Sunday school classroom in the educational building. They sing for worship at various times throughout the school year and also present special seasonal programs.

“SPECIAL MUSIC” MINISTRY

This ministry was developed to provide individuals and groups the opportunity to lead in worship through song or instrumental performance. Soloists, instrumentalists and ensembles are scheduled to provide special music at the 8:30am and 7pm services weekly and for special services throughout the year. Those interested in this ministry should contact the music director and set up an appointment to go over the ministry philosophy and guidelines.
